drying up and flaking away

today has been awful. I'm so dry and no matter how much stuff I put on it only lasts for about 20 minutes. I lathered myself this morning with Aquaphor and since have put on the lavendar aveeno, the green aveeno and have just put on cetiphil. please God, let me know what is wrong. I'm so sore right now, i'm so dry. I've quit taking so much atarax... maybe that's doing it? also saw Dr. Fudman today and I've a clean bill of health no lupus no arthritis. but no answer to this dryness and itching. it was warm today and i can see place where my photo dermititis is clearing up.

What is going on?

I feel awful today. Like I'm really sunburned. Used the stuff that Andi gave me felt like my skin was about to come off. Mouth feels numbs, face numb, very hot, my skin is chaffed. Feet very swollen, bladder infection is better, no problems like yesterday when it hurt like a you know what. been sleeping on one pillow, neck doesn't hurt much today. took only 2 methetraxtes this weekend

Cipro update... what I'm taking for my bladder infection

Side affects... affecting less than 1%, but hey you know me: SKIN HYPERSENSITIVITY: itching, rash, sensitivity to sunlight, flushing, chills, swelling of the blood vessels or lymph system, swelling of the face, lips, neck, eyes, or hands. Cuticle candidiasis (yeast) and hyperpigmentation. So I'm itching (of course it is 53 outside) and dry and scaly. man i get out of the shower and immediately i've got white flaky patches ALL over me. my upper right thigh is very sore, like i ran into something and bruisded it. my infection in my stretch mark is much improved. putting peroxide and antibiotic cream on it. Period is over? So far looks like it. Neck very sore, woke up could barely move. right foot is much more swollen then left. the swelling actually seems to go down during the day. go figure. bladder feels a bit better. no sloughing of the uterine liner when I went to the bathroom just now. Very dry mouth though. like my tongue gets stuck to my roof. drinking lots of cranberry juice, no azo since sometime yesterday? morning? but over all just feel yucky! but back to work.

Here's something else to consider when doing tests: The result of an antinuclear antibody (ANA) test is used along with a thorough medical history, physical examination, or other tests to diagnose systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) or other autoimmune diseases. SLE cannot be diagnosed by the results of the ANA test alone. Some healthy people can have an elevated ANA titer. Also, ANA levels can increase with age. A method to detect antinuclear antibodies called enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) is replacing the previous method of testing (immunofluorescent assay technique, or IFA). The ELISA method is less likely to produce a false-positive ANA result than the IFA method. Won't hear about the biopsy till Wednesday. Very itchy today, can't keep my hands off my body! Felt pretty dry this morning. and last night very... weather was 88 yesterday, but got to the 40's last night. High today will be 67, about 60 right now. Bladder infection is back, taking Ciparo (called into Seeker's office). Maybe from upping my methotrexate? Period barely happening today. Got an infection in my stretch marks from scratching my skin. I think the Ciparo is helping. one place (the swelling) is already gone and the bigger one seems smaller. It's so gross. Other weird things: When being on the phone too long today, have to stretch my arm slowly to hang the phone back up. And something that as been happening for a long time that I keep forgetting to mention: when I bend over for very long I get this really sharp pain right under my ribs on the left side and it feels like something hard is there... hernia? Swelling is going down, have lost 5 lbs. thank heavens! = )

Another Period?

Just started my period... let's see the last one I had was February 13th and ended February 20th. So that is about 3 weeks. Maybe that's why my bloating hasn't gone down. it was almost like i wet my pants and there were two places of smeared blood, dark brown in color. At this very moment I feel very very dry. Been pretty itchy. Worked my feet over good earlier this week and am suffering. why why why do i do what i do? but boy does if feel good when i'm itching. not so red today. dry patches seem less. taken 2 atarax about every 3 and half to four hours today... 7am, 11am 3pm... my breasts seemed lighter in color (the boob part). is it the sulfa that is making me itch? but i'd rather itch then be bloated, be dry, feel like i have a bladder infection. so that's what i gave up when i started back on my blood pressure meds. itch/or all that other junk? i'll take the itching. did not use a sleeping pill last night. felt like i was in this half sleep all night. that dream about kim runnning out the door, in the pouring rain, with the cake, "I'm throwing it away, I'm not having it in my house." that was weird. neck is still sore, but goes away pretty fast. hip still hurts but when doing it just right can lay down on my right side. biopsy site looks good. healing nicely. i should mention that on thursday i wasn't feeling as depressed and actually got some work done.

Day 2 of being back on the blood pressure meds

Well, I hate to admit, but I've not itched like this in a while. However, the water softner was not working, and the itching didn't get bad till this afternoon. I'm a bit calmed now because I took 2 atarax about an hour ago. and took 2 this morning, so that is better, right? tell me it is. i've been very drepressed today. i guess it's all the stuff going on with do i have lupus? if no then what do i have? why can't I get better? I really need to work, but i just can't concentrate. God i need you more than ever. -

Still Dry...

Ok let's see... I'm not pre-diabetic, blood tests concerning that were good. 146 cholesterol, 80 blood sugar, liver functions look good, however, my ana panels were positive, whatever that means! Looking at some websites, it could indicate Lupus though that wasn't mentioned. But Rheumtoid Arthritis. Guess I'll go see a Reheumtoid specialist ;) Got to go back on my blood pressure meds today... horray. hope, hope, hope this helps with my swelling. Not too itchy, but dry... and flaky, however went all day yesterday w/out any "thigh" protectors and it wasn't too bad. Feel a little sunburned after my 1 minute and 20 seconds tan yesterday. Taking about 2 atarax every 6 hours! Better. Things to discuss with Doctor: Ana panels: dilution they used? Patterns... apparently this all would indicate which disease you have when your ana panels are positive. Also, interesting that Cook said that a test to take for my itching. Need to see what he says about that - Ok that's all for now.

The Itching is BACK!

Tuesday, March 1st... notes I made during Avatar training: 2 atarax at 9am... 3 last night and a sleeping pill. VERY dry, but not so itchy. Bladder hurts. This week: Skin very dry, peeling, have to use lots of lotion, all thru the day. Been drinking lots of Cranberry juice as of 3/3... have drunk almost a gallon since noon yesterday. Will finish that gallon for sure today. Bladder feels better. Swelling seems better... the cranberry juice or the fact that I was off my feet all day yesterday? Got really sick from those dang dieuritic (sp?) herable pills. Thought I was going to die yesterday. Could hardly stand. Finally gas pain went away... slept almost all day. Didn't take a sleeping pill last night. Was so itchy at 3:30 am went down and got some Atarax. Have been VERY itchy today. Not so dry, just did the "knee test" , earlier it was painful but not now. I've not had a little itching jag like I did this morning driving in in a while. Took two Atarax and it's helped a little. AC is on at work, maybe that is helping with the dry feeling. Well I take that back, I just straightened my legs and they felt like paper. Washed my hair today w/the T-gel... causes the itch? but as Alex said, well does your head itch much? No... just took my last 2 ataraxes that i have with me. need to get the rest at HEB today. I think that's all to report so far today.
