| psorasis notes: today is 1/31/05. My itching has been unbearable. Took 2 methetraxates this weekend, and one Enbrel shot. Tempature this weekend has been in the 40's and 50's. I was very dry and itchy on Saturday (took bath, helped a little). Sunday, not so dry feeling, (never took bath) very itchy all over. Monday, dry patches under eyes, dry behind the knees. Very itchy. didn't sleep at all last night. took 3 atarax and 1 ambien. no light treatment because I was late, but broke down in the office ... carried on hysterically (works great in getting someone's attention). dr. s gave me prednisone, 20 mg. took my first one at 1pm can feel something now. 4pm. maybe a little less itchy? - stay tuned. skin looks pretty good. very dry/flaky patches on feet and from shins down. have used over the weekend, dr. scholls feet stuff, johnson & johnson feet stuff, cetiphel lotion and wash and aveeno lotion and wash. forgot to mention: put on seasme oil on back of knees this morning. trying new lotion: vaseline intensive care, healthy hand essentials. maybe helping a little. just put it on legs and back of knees.2/1/05 - Took my prednisone at 4pm slept better. took 2 atarax and a ambien. still can remember scratching some during the night, but the over all "never feeling like my skin isn't just begging to be scratched" is greatly subuded. (and yes that's a horrible sentence but you get the idea)2/2/05 very dry today weather, everything. took prednisone at 6:30 pm as I'm working late tonight. slept ok. was a little restless.2/3/05 - took Enbrel shot last night (this morning) about 1am. Didn't feel as dry this morning, however very itchy around abdomen and back (fatty areas???) Took 2 Atarax this morning. Not sure how'd I feel if I hadn't taken any or only 1??? Feet looking much better with the Johnson and Johnson first aid stuff. Legs still flaky, but skin still working even just taking only 2 Methetraxate per week!2/7/05 - Took 2 methetraxates this weekend, and one Enbrel shot. Keith discovered the water softner was unplugged. Chose not to take a bath on Saturday! Took a lodine (sp?) for my sore neck Friday night. Made the neck pain go away but sheeeezzz felt like I was sunburned/covered in hair from a hair cut all day saturday. Sunday that feeling was gone, but I was still itching. Itching seems to be centered, focused, something like that, around my waist. Is it because of the fat? Very itchy today, water softner not working yet? Legs don't seem to be as bad. Weather outside is not that cold, heaters not on... what is it God??? I'm just plain miserable! Felt Lodine wear off about superbowl time last night. Put some heat on my neck, much better. Much rather have a pain in the neck than the itching... no more lodine for me! Oh yea, washed w/the lavendar soap with squiggee.added notes for 2/7: I realized this afternoon that I'm not getting any better, that I'm just medicating myself with Atarax. It is just plain miserable. It's mainly on my upper body that is bothering. Also, i'm very dry but putting on lotion doesnt' seem to help. Again I think getting hot and sweaty makes it worse.2/8/05 - Wore green flower dress from Goodwill. It was just ok...2/9/05 - noticed today driving to work not the hot sweaty itchy around my backside. Water softner got flushed by Carlos last night and used Neutrogenia oil on body this morning. However, now 3 hours after taking my Atarax am feeling the sunburn/stuck w/hair cut feeling. took TWO atarax at 10:00 am. Wearing black velvet shirt and pants. High today mid 50's, wet. I felt like I slept ok last night, but Keith didnt'.2/15/05... been bad about journaling... last week wanted to write some stuff but forgot what now... badddddd... well first, Keith has slept in our bed for the entire night for at least the 5 days (or according to above, the last week???). Anyway, yesterday, ran out our Atarax and didn't take any all day. It was about 80 degrees and that helped a lot with the itchings and overall yuck feeling, but last night oh man, i didnt' sleep a wink, was up all night itching scratching, but all seemed to be on my upper body. before i went to bed i took my predisone, a benedryl, 2 doxpins and then took another benedryl in the middle of the night. however, my skin is looking really good. the patches are going away (ie. when i scratch now i don't have a "pile" of dead skin just a light dusting ;) ) i got the pharmacy to "front" me some pills today. took 2 at around 11 am... then around 2pm the sunburn/stuck with hair feeling came back. so what's with that? didn't have that yesterday. seriously i don't think the itching is getting any better, the atarax just hide the symptoms. had my enbrel shot on saturday, had light treatment today. 55 seconds... or was it 50? but w/this warm weather i really can tell a difference. |
